  Installation Configurations:

Our lessons may be used in a variety of ways. Because of the flexibility that Authorware gives, the lessons may be run directly from the CD, from the hard drive, or from a server across a network (LAN). The procedures for setting up and running the lessons for each configuration are outlined in detail in the User's Guide which accompanies the CDs. Installation simply consists of copying the entire contents of each CD to a location on a hard drive. It does not matter where the lessons are placed, only that the directory structure is unchanged within each lesson.

We have heard concerns regarding bandwidth limitations in some mills who wish to run the lessons over a network. As we have tested in-house, the lessons run acceptably over a 10 megabit network, and run very well over a 10/100 megabit network connection. If a mill has a deficient network, the cheapest and easiest solution is to store the lessons directly on the training computer hard drive(s) and only set up the records and Helm to read/write over the network.

The current editions require a CD-key to unlock the software. This must be done on each COMPUTER that is used to run a lesson, but it should only need to be done once per computer.
